There are five options for getting a star for the top of your SuperStar:

1. You can buy an inexpensive 4 channel wire frame star from 3G Lighting Creations here: http://store.3glightingcreations.com/small-exploding-star-green/
   At the time of this writing, the wire frame is $41 and the light kit is $60. So it is $101 total plus shipping and handling.
2. You may purchase a kit to build a star just like the one I have. Click here to see the instructions for the kit.
3. You can buy a fully assembled star just like the one I have.
4. NEW for 2015, you may purchase a molded back star kit. Click here to see the instructions for the molded back star kit. In addition you can add a "drop down" piece to attach to the CCRs.
5. NEW for 2015, you may purchase a fully assembled star with a molded formed back. In addition you can add a "drop down" piece to attach to the CCRs. There is now a mounting bracket you can use with or without the optional "drop down" piece.

Description of the molded formed back stars:
New in 2015 is the molded back stars with optional "drop down" piece to attach the CCRs to. The molded back is made from special UV resistant ABS plastic and makes assembly of the star easier because you don't have to deal with side pieces.
The molded back mates to the same front star piece that is used in the legacy stars.
The molded back stars use the same 6 custom made 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 count white LED light strings that have 2" spacing between the lights to reduce the amount of extra wire in the star.

 



Star Mounting Brackets: (without and with "drop down" piece)
The Star Mounting Bracket screws into 1/2" pipe.

The drop down pieces will not have the holes pre-drilled, but instead will have 12 shallow pilot holes so you can drill the holes yourself.
You can drill holes whatever size suits your needs, and if you want you can drill the holes straight across or where ever you want. Also, you can drill 16 holes if you want. The drop down piece is made of a strong plastic but it is not acrylic, so you can use a regular drill bit to drill the holes.

Star Kit and Assembled Star Warranty: If any of the light strings fail they will be replaced at no charge for two years after purchase.

Dimensions of the Star
The distance from the upper left tip to the upper right tip is 29 inches. The distance from the lower left tip to the lower right tip is 18 inches. The distance from the center to any of the tips is 15 1/4 inches which means 15 1/4 inches is the radius and if you drew a circle on all of the 5 tips, the diameter of that circle would be 30 1/2 inches.

**LEGACY STARS DISCONTINUED**

Description of the legacy stars:
All pieces of the legacy star kit are cut from 1/4" HDPE plastic. HDPE plastic is naturally UV resistant and will last at least 10 years in the sun.
Before 2015 the stars were cut from a hand-made template and the tips were not completely uniform and the holes were drilled by hand by me. Starting in 2015 Rick Turman at Reliable Formed Plastics, a fellow Christmas light enthusiast, is cutting the stars and drilling the holes using a CNC machine. He is giving me a good price and this has allowed me to lower the price of the legacy stars from $259.95 to $199.95.
The price of the fully assembled legacy star has been reduced from $469.95 to $349.95.
Not only is the price lower, but the star tips and the holes are now completely uniform.
As always, the legacy star kits come with 6 custom made 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 count white LED light strings that have 2" spacing between the lights to reduce the amount of extra wire in the star.
