FAQ

Q: Where does the SuperStar Sequencer store the effects?
A: The effects are stored in .sup files and are always in the same directory. For example: c:\Lightorama\SuperStar\Sequences\MySequence.sup

Q: How does the sequence get played to the Cosmic Color Ribbons?
A: Use the Export option in the File menu to export the sequence as a Light-O-Rama Musical Sequence (.lms) file or as a Light-O-Rama Animation Sequence (.las) file. Once the file is exported it is played by the Light-O-Rama Sequence Editor to control the Cosmic Color Ribbons.

Q: Are there video tutorials?
A: Yes, there are SuperStar video tutorials. On the main page of this web site click on the "Video Tutorials" link underneath the word "Software". The tutorials are also on Light-O-Rama's youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/LightORamaVideos. There is also a list of Light-O-Rama tutorials at http://www.lightorama.com/S3TutorialLinks.html. The SuperStar tutorials are listed at the bottom of the web page.

Q: I have sequences for my other lights, how do I get SuperStar Sequences into my main sequence that runs my other lights?
A: This is described in the tutorial titled "Getting a CCR sequence into your main sequence". You can watch this tutorial here.

Q: Is there a SuperStar forum?
A: There is a SuperStar forum on Light-O-Rama's web site. From their main page, click on "Forums", in the "LOR Software" section is a forum titled "SuperStar Sequence Editor." It is also linked to on this web site as "Forums" underneath the word "Other".

Q: Can I do an Instant Sequence on my other lights?
A: Yes, if you create a Visualization file using the Light-O-Rama Visualizer, you can import that file into SuperStar by clicking on the "File" menu and then selecting "Import Visualization".

Q: I don't have a Visualization file of my lights, can I still do an Instant Sequence on my lights?
A: Yes, there is now a "QuickVis" feature, do the following:
  1. Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Create Quick Visualization"
  2. In the dialog box that appears, put a check mark in front of all the controllers you have. For example, if you have 4 LOR 16 channel controllers and they have Unit ID 1, 2, 3, and 4, put a check mark in front of the first 4 controllers.
  3. If you have something other than 16 channel LOR controllers, change values in the controls in the dialog box so they match your controllers.
  4. Click on the "Create Quick Visualization" button
  5. Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Instant Sequence"
  6. In the "Instant Sequence" dialog box, click on "Open Audio File"
  7. Click on "Sequence All"
  8. Click on the "File" menu, select "Export"
  9. Launch the Light-O-Rama Sequence Editor, open the file you exported, and play it to your lights.
